Maruyama Animation Produce Project Association or MAPPA Studio for short is a Japanese animation company that began in 2011 as the brainchild of the producer and founder of animation studio Madhouse. From the get-go they have sought to make history with a wide range of collaborations and productions that go beyond just their individual works.
Their extensive resume starts off with highly successful anime series like Kids on the Slope, Terror in Resonance, Punch Line, Days, Yuri!!! on Ice, Inuyashiki, Banana Fish, Zombie Land Saga, and Dororo. The dedication and skill of the animators have also brought them into film projects, producing the historical drama In This Corner of the World, the action-packed film <Garo> Divine Flame, and the finish for the ever stunning film Mirai. Alongside fellow studios, they have accomplished recognition work on series like IDOLISH7, To Love Ru: Darkness, and To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts. Their most recent cooperating work on the film Weathering With You has become a box office hit around the world.
